The Metropolitan of Limassol Athanasios was the first to cut the thread for the Tri-person with a percentage of around 35.65%.
The battle for second place unfolded in a thriller, after the Metropolitan of Paphos and Metropolitan Tamasu fought vote by vote. In the end, the Metropolitan of Paphos came second with a percentage of 18.39% and the Metropolitan of Tamasos came third with 18.10%.
We are now entering the process of objections which will last three days. After the expiration of the three days, the General Superintendent of Archdiocesan Elections will collect all these objections, if any, and will have to deliver them to the Overseer and the Holy Synod.
According to the Charter of the Church of Cyprus after after the 3 days have passed, within 5 days the Holy Synod must meet to study the objections, validate the result and establish the triumvirate.
Then within 3 days, the Holy Synod will choose the Archbishop from the three-person committee that will have already been drawn up.
