A 34-year-old man, a resident of Limassol province, was arrested yesterday as a suspect in a case of illegal cultivation of cannabis plants in a house in Larnaca province.
According to the Police, the 34-year-old was arrested with a court warrant and was taken into custody, after a search that took place yesterday afternoon at his house where a sum of 15,550 euros, a small amount of cannabis, and 22 cannabis seeds were found.
The 34-year-old is expected to be brought before the Larnaca District Court today for the issuance of a detention order.
A 40-year-old man from Larnaca province has been in custody for the same case since yesterday, who is considered a suspect in a case involving a conspiracy to commit a crime, illegal cultivation of cannabis plants and illegal possession of cannabis for the purpose of supply.
It is recalled that in the context of evaluating evidence and testimonies, members of the Larnaca branch of YKAN conducted a search on Friday afternoon in the apartment of a 40-year-old in Larnaca.
During the search, he was allegedly found in a specially designed space inside a bedroom, which contained, among other things, lamps and rubbers, an artificial nursery in which six hemp plants 50-60 cm high and a small amount of hemp were grown.
The plants and the equipment used for their cultivation were taken from the tent.
