Police attribute the fire that broke out in a vehicle in the early hours of Monday morning in Paphos to malicious action.
According to Kyriakos Charalambous, Assistant Head of the Paphos Crime Investigation Department, at 03.35 on Monday, a call was received about a fire in a vehicle, owned by a company, which was parked in the yard of a house in an open area in the city of Paphos.
To extinguish the fire members of the Police and the Fire Service responded to the fire with two fire engines from the Paphos Fire Station.
The fire was extinguished before the arrival of the Fire Service by the owner using water. A final extinguishing and inspection was carried out by the P.Y. The fire destroyed the exterior paint of almost the entire vehicle, while the damage suffered by the vehicle is estimated at 3,000 euros.
The causes of the fire were investigated on Monday in cooperation with the Police. An incendiary strip was found at the scene, which leads the investigators to the conclusion that it was arson. According to the Police there is insurance coverage.
