The changes approved by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday come into force today and are included in the Decree of the Minister of Health published yesterday in the Official Gazette, in relation to the measures in force to deal with the coronavirus. They concern the lifting of the ban on entry to restaurants, cafes and theaters for unvaccinated children 12-17 years old and changes in the criteria that apply to employees in nursing homes.

Specifically, the Ministry decided as of today, February 4, 2022, to lift the ban on children without a history of vaccination aged 12-17, in restaurants, cafes and theaters.

“Entry to these areas will be permitted upon presentation of a 72-hour negative PCR or Rapid Test, provided they are accompanied by a parent / guardian who has completed their vaccination program,” it said.

Pupils of private and public primary schools and public and private Secondary Schools who are close contacts of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases within the school unit, who according to the health protocols of the Ministry of Health must remain in a state of compulsory may continue their physical education at the school unit, provided that they submit daily, on school working days and for a period of 7 days from the date of close contact, to a rapid antigen detection test for COVID-19 , in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.

Students who hold a certificate of complete vaccination or a valid certificate of recovery undergo a rapid antigen detection test on the third and fifth day, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health,

It is understood that, in case of a positive COVID-19 incident, the health protocols of the Ministry of Health are followed.

According to the Decree, for employees in nursing homes and other closed care and accommodation structures for the elderly and vulnerable groups, the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Welfare are observed and a negative laboratory examination (PCR) is required. COVID-19 disease, sampling within 24 hours, or the presentation of a valid certificate of complete vaccination for COVID-19 disease or a valid certificate of recovery from COVID-19 disease, as well as a negative laboratory test (PCR) or rapid antigen detection test for COVID-19 disease, with sampling performed within 72 hours,
