A joint information campaign, with the aim of creating a protection shield against those who use electronic methods with the aim of deceiving citizens or organizations, is organized by the Digital Security Authority, the Cyprus Police (E-Crime Sub-Directorate) and the Association Banks of Cyprus.
The campaign named ASPIS II (INFORMATION SECURITY), according to an announcement, aims to inform citizens about the usual practices applied by vigilantes, in order to gain access to personal data and their bank accounts or to involve them in false procedures with the aim of extracting sums of money.
The campaign will consist of four television films and four radio ones and is addressed to all citizens and especially to those groups, which they are more frequent and easier targets.
Communications Commissioner Giorgos Michaelidis, the Cyprus Police Chief Stylianos Papatheodorou and the General Manager of the Cyprus Banks Association Michalis Kammas will provide additional details in a Press Conference on November 25.
"Together, we can protect our transactions, our private communication, our personal data and our property”, it is stated and the message is sent that “criminals are looking for victims, don't be the next”.
