The new cases of COVID-19 around the world yesterday amounted to 659,109 while the new deaths were 10,135, according to the count of the website Worldometers. The United States tops the list of most cases in the last 24 hours, followed by Brazil and Indonesia.

The number of people infected with the disease since the beginning of the pandemic reached 196.7 million on Thursday, while the death toll internationally exceeded 4.2 million. About 178.1 million have recovered from the disease, while currently active cases amount to 14.4 million, with 99.4% having mild symptoms and 0.6% being severe / critical. Of the closed cases, 98% have recovered and 2% have died.

Most incidents in the last 24 hours, a total of 84,534 were recorded in the US, while the country counted 483 new deaths. In second place is Brazil, where yesterday the new cases amounted to 48,443, while there were 1,366 deaths. Third in the number of cases in the last 24 hours is Indonesia with 47,791 cases and 1,824 new deaths, followed by India with 43,211 cases and 641 new deaths and Iran with 33,817 new cases and 303 new deaths.

The countries with the most cases since the beginning of the pandemic are the USA with a total of 35.5 million cases and 628,098 deaths, India with 31.5 million cases and 422,695 deaths, Brazil with 19.8 million cases and 553,272 deaths, Russia with 6.2 million cases and 156,178 deaths and France with 6 million cases and 111,735 deaths.
