The loss of the Russian market is also recorded in the passenger traffic data for the month of May at Larnaca and Paphos airports, since it is reduced by about 22% compared to 2019. At the two airports, a total of 885 thousand passengers were handled, 634 thousand more than the corresponding period last year. According to data released by Hermes Airports, passenger traffic is at 78.3% in the corresponding month of 2019, a year in which a record number of passengers was recorded at the two airports. & Nbsp;

The total traffic of Larnaca Airport for May was 558 thousand (290 thousand arriving and 268 thousand departing passengers). Most who chose to travel through it, were from the United Kingdom (141 thousand), Greece (104 thousand), Germany (47 thousand), Israel (30 thousand), Sweden (29 thousand), Austria ( 28km), Poland (24km), Denmark (19km), Romania (13km) and Hungary (12km).
Passenger traffic rates are higher at Paphos Airport, where according to Hermes, the average occupancy rate of aircraft was 85.5% (87.9% arriving and 83.2% departing passengers). The total available seats at Paphos Airport in May were 379 & nbsp; thousand, an increase of 316 thousand seats compared to 2021. & nbsp;
The total traffic for Paphos Airport was 325 thousand (167 thousand. arriving and 157 thousand departing passengers). The United Kingdom with 160 thousand passengers, is also in Paphos the market with the best performance.
