The highest level of the last 11 years for the month of November, industrial production rose in November 2021, according to data released on Friday by the Statistical Service.
Specifically, the Industrial Production Index for November 2021 reached 132.6 points (base 2015 = 100), recording an increase of 4.4%, compared to November 2020. This is the highest level for industrial production since November of 2010.
During the period January – November 2021, the index showed an increase of 7.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2020.
According to the Statistical Service, in the processing sector, an increase of 5.1% was observed in November 2021, compared to November 2020.
An increase was also recorded in the sectors of mines and quarries (8.3%) and water supply and materials recovery (8.2%). A negative change was observed in the electricity supply sector (0.1%).
In addition, in the manufacturing sector, the most significant positive changes compared to November 2020 were the activities of manufacturing electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (47.6%), manufacturing of furniture, other manufacturing activities and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (31 , 0%), manufacturing of rubber and plastic products (12.8%) and food, beverage and tobacco industry (7.2%).
On the contrary, according to the Statistical Service, the most significant negative changes were observed in the activities of production of textiles, clothing and leather goods (10.6%), manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products (8.2%), production of oil refining products, chemicals substances and products and pharmaceuticals and preparations (7.7%) and production of basic metals and manufacture of metal products (2.3%).
