The Summary Balance Sheet
The total assets and total liabilities of the Central Bank of Cyprus are €32,117,557,000. CBC published on Wednesday its Summary Balance Sheet as of February 28, 2023.
According to her, its assets include gold and claims on gold amounting to €762.8 million, claims on foreign exchange against non-residents of the eurozone amounting to €1.1 billion, claims on foreign exchange against residents of the eurozone amounting to €30.8 million .
In addition, it includes claims in euros against non-residents of the eurozone, amounting to €50 million, loans in euros to credit institutions in the eurozone, related to monetary policy operations amounting to €4, 7 billion, euro-denominated securities of eurozone residents €8.7 billion, claims within the Eurosystem amounting to €16.3 billion, items under settlement €4.1 million and other assets amounting to €141.3 million.
Accordingly, its liabilities include banknotes in circulation amounting to €3 billion, liabilities in euros to credit institutions in the euro area, related to monetary policy operations of €22.7 billion and other liabilities in euros to credit institutions in the euro area, amounting to €50 million .
In addition, it includes liabilities in euros towards other residents of the euro area amounting to €3.6 billion, of which €3.3 billion to the general government. Also included are liabilities in euros to non-euro zone residents of €84.4 million and foreign currency liabilities to euro zone residents of €318.4 million. Also included is the special drawing rights account of the IMF with €530.7 million, figures under settlement of €4.3 million, other liabilities €325.2 million and provisions €455.6 million.
Finally, the total liabilities of CBC also include the accounts adjustment amounting to €709.7 million as well as capital and reserves amounting to €318.8 million.
