The congress of DIKO was postponed for February 6, in order to organize an online political conference with 1400 delegates, the general secretary of the party, Athos Antoniadis, told Politis 107.6 and 97.6. In a relevant question, the secretary general of DIKO answered that 1400 will have the right to participate as if they were in a real conference and the issue of the 2023 Presidential Elections will be discussed – since it is a milestone.
Mr. Antoniadis stated that the internal pre-conference dialogue took place in the presence of the president of DIKO to hear the base and obviously there is a discussion between executives about the 2023 elections. Yesterday in the executive office an exchange of views took place and obviously DIKO has priority cooperation with the opposition, although we do not rule out discussion with any party other than ELAM.
Excluding the cooperation with ELAM, the secretary general of DIKO stated that we have never had a structured discussion with the specific party. “Our candidate will be decided by the collective bodies of the party after listening to the base.” “Obviously,” he said, “we consider Nikolas Papadopoulos suitable for the presidency of the Republic.”
