The Attorney General ordered the immediate investigation and registration of a criminal case by the Police in relation to the refusal to perform an autopsy on the body of the deceased with Covid-19 by a public medical examiner, as well as the refusal to comply with the death interrogator's decree.
In particular, it is reported that the Legal Service made recommendations and suggestions to those responsible for the immediate necropsy and with the opinion of the Assistant Attorney General dated February 2, 2021 to the Ministry of Health, taking into account the guidelines set by the World Health Organization. and the Royal College of Pathologists, which allows the autopsy to be performed provided the necessary protective measures are taken, recommended compliance with the relevant decree. The position of the Attorney General and the Assistant Attorney General is that it is an elementary obligation to respect the dead and their relatives, and the long unjustified delay in burying a dead person is indulgently unacceptable.
