In today's letter to the deputies of the Health Committee, the Auditor General of the Republic, Odysseas Michailidis, reiterates his assessment that for the future course of the revenues and expenditures of the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY), to which the public hospitals fall, one gloomy picture of its viability.
This conclusion was reached by Mr. Michailidis, taking into account the budget of the Organization for 2021, which was voted a few days ago by the Parliament, with the state sponsorship being limited to € 120 million.
At the same time, Odysseas Michailidis states in his report that he does not share the view of OKYPY that the agreement for providing incentives for specialist doctors correlates pay, productivity and reciprocity. “It is clear that the above-mentioned principles are not guaranteed when OKYPY pays monthly to all specialist doctors in addition to their salary and other benefits an amount of € 1,850 regardless of their performance” complains Mr. Michaelides.
