Following the differentiation of the procedure for arranging appointments for vaccination against COVID-19, as a result of the encouraging and great response shown by the citizens in the previous weeks, the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan continues with the provision of 5,448 appointments for 90 years old. The Vaccination Portal will be available to citizens over the age of 90, who have not been vaccinated or have not already made an appointment, on Monday, January 25, at 9 am. The new appointments concern the period from January 27 to February 5.
It is reminded that the vaccinations are done by 11 workshops in 9 Vaccination Centers that are already operating in all the Provinces. At the same time, the Linopetra Vaccination Center, Limassol, starts operating, while vaccination teams are added in Latsia, Lakatamia and Paphos and the opening hours in Larnaca and the days in Lakatamia and Famagusta are extended. Therefore, the citizens will be served by a total of 15 crews.
It is clarified that, depending on the rate of exhaustion of appointments for people over 90, the citizens will be informed through an announcement about the availability of appointments in the next age subcategories.
In relation to the vaccination coverage of the population, in the week of January 16-22, 2021, a total of 7,153 vaccinations were performed. Of these, 2,057 relate to tenants and staff of nursing homes and first-line professionals working in private sector hospitals and OKYPY nationwide who received the 2nd dose, and thus completed their vaccination. Another 5,096 subjects received the first dose of the vaccine. The total number of people vaccinated with the first dose is 15,322 people.
