The society sent its message in the parliamentary elections that it needs proposals for tomorrow and answers to its problems and not division and toxicity, said the President of DISY, Averof Neophytou, commenting on today's protest outside the Presidential Palace.
In statements in Limassol, Mr. Neophytou said that “what the General Secretary of AKEL said today is what his party said before the parliamentary elections”, and added that the message sent by the society is that it needs proposals for tomorrow .
“I consider, very humbly, that the dominant message of the elections was a resounding no to toxicity, a resounding no to division and a resounding yes to working together for the future of our country,” he added.
We must, continued the President of DISY, “work together to create a better Cyprus through the Recovery Fund, which has rightly been set as a national priority by the Government of President Anastasiadis. “There is much more that needs to be done for the good of the place than the constant toxicity and division,” he said.
He said that “we should all do our self-criticism as a political system and send an optimistic message to society.”
“We learn from our mistakes and through cooperation we try to create a better tomorrow for the place. “Society wants answers to its problems, it does not want division and toxicity”, the President of DISY concluded in his statement.
