DISY president Averof Neophytou launched a fierce attack against AKEL and the Democratic Party while speaking on the show Insider on Active.
Speaking to Socrates Joachim and Mario Rousso, Mr. Neophytou said that the problem of corruption in Cyprus did not arise from the issue of naturalization, but pre-existed and that he assumes his share of responsibility as president of the largest party in Cyprus.
He accused AKEL that on the one hand it did not respect in the past the Court's convictions against its members and on the other hand that it protested against corruption after the Al Jazeera documentary where its main protagonist was a member of parliament.
“Not all developers, lawyers and auditors are members of the Democratic Alarm. There are from all parties. “Let us have a little patience to complete the conclusion of the investigative committee and you may see some who are shouting today guilty,” he underlined.
For DIKO and its president Nikolas Papadopoulos, he stressed that he personally has no problem and is in favor of giving the naturalization files to the auditor general, stressing that since there is a different opinion from the attorney general, the issue should be referred to the Supreme Court.
He also accused him that by insisting on the issue, he wanted to lead the country into adventures and leave businesses without support and citizens without allowances, salaries and pensions.
“Unfortunately we see in Cyprus that there is an imported toxicity from Greece. There is no more toxicity in Greece and we introduced it “, clearly photographing the current adviser of Nikolas Papadopoulos and former adviser of the former Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras.
Responding to what he is accused of being a man in the background, he stressed that this is not the case. “I that actions I do away from the limelight are for the good of our Cyprus and not to gain personal benefit,” he stressed.
What does it mean to go shopping?
Averof Neophytou also characterized as particularly positive yesterday's new exit of Cyprus in the markets.
“We borrowed at the historically lowest interest rate, which proves that foreign investors have confidence in the prospects of the Cypriot economy and is a resounding response to everything the opposition parties are accusing the government of.”
Mr. Neophytou also defended the government's handling of the pandemic, citing international figures that rank Cyprus fifth in the world in terms of pandemic management.
Aim in the parliamentary
Finally, referring to the goal of DISY in the parliamentary elections, he expressed the hope that the citizens at the ballot box will recognize the catalytic role that his party plays in the existence of stability in the country.
