The weather system called & # 8220; Philip & # 8221; affects the area, with the cold gas mass that accompanies it remaining in the area for the next few days.

Today, the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, while locally in the mountains snowfall is expected, which from time to time may be dense. Transient snowfall or sleet is also expected in some semi-mountainous areas, while the effects are quite limited from noon onwards. The winds will blow generally westerly to northwesterly, in the morning very strong, 6 Beaufort and temporarily locally on the west and north mainly coast to strong, 6 to 7 Beaufort. From the afternoon onwards the winds weaken and become strong to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort, of the same direction. The sea will be up to wavy, on the south and east coasts and up to very wavy, on the west and north coasts. The temperature will rise to around 10 degrees inland, on the west and north coasts, around 12 on the south and east coasts and around minus 4 degrees in the higher mountains. There will be frost locally in the mountains.

Yellow warning

In the meantime, a yellow warning is in effect until 08:00 on Friday, March 11th. According to the Meteorological Department, for strong to stormy westerly, as northwesterly winds, intensity 7 and, locally, up to 8 Beaufort, which will affect the northern, western and southwestern parts of the island.
