-What are your plans for the next day of KEAN?
The acquisition of 100% of KEAN's shares by bbf aims to make a strengthening investment respecting the history of KEAN which has been successfully operating for 74 years and is a point of reference for the Cypriot consumer. bbf: clarifies that the acquisition will not affect KEAN's brand, staff or management team. The purpose is to strengthen the company with a new investment that will use the surrounding area with respect. In this way, bbf will: combine the idea of a historic property with a modern and sustainable investment, a philosophy that the company already takes advantage of, as for example with the revival of the historic Hotel Berengaria in Prodromos which on the one hand will keep its exterior unchanged aspect and on the other hand it will be upgraded and strengthened with a new housing development-investment.
-How is the implementation of the restoration project in Berengaria progressing? At what stage is it and what are the timetables?
The renovation and revival of the historical hotel Berengaria in Prodromos is a remarkable event for our company. Completion of the grandiose project is expected by 2026. The rebirth of the legendary Hotel Berengaria will consist of the listed building Berengaria and, in addition, in the surrounding area of the hotel there will be a residential development with a total of 36 independent luxury villas, studios and maisonettes. Our main goal is the revival of the listed building and the creation, at the same time, of a modern hotel of high standards. The independent residences are sparsely spaced within the wooded surrounding area, following the natural topography of the land, overlooking the forest and respecting the natural environment. This development is a landmark for the wider mountain area as the revival of Berengaria will upgrade the area of Prodromos and the wider mountain area, making it attractive for domestic and international tourism. The first phase of the Immediate Intervention Works has already been completed and we are proceeding with the second phase at the end of April. At the same time, the studies of the group of Consultants concerning the construction implementation study are progressing.
