The case of Sofia Bekatorou's complaints against her then coach is included in the file, due to the statute of limitations for the offense.
According to the Athens Prosecutor's Office, the passage of 24 years since the commission of the offense under investigation, did not allow the prosecutor's office to proceed with further investigation into the sexual abuse of the Olympian.
However, Ms. Bekatorou's allegations also include three cases of abuse that she was aware of within the sailing community.
One of them is the 21-year-old athlete, who appeared before the prosecutor giving a statement about what happened to her when she was 11 years old, accusing her coach of rape, for which there is no statute of limitations.
