Beneficial rains but… far from average rainfall for November – What the data of the Meteorological Service shows

The average amount of precipitation for the month of November reached just 40% of normalthat fell in the free areas from the 1st of the month until 8:00 a.m. on November 24, according to preliminary data released on Thursday by the Meteorological Department.
According to the data, the average total amount of precipitation in the same period it amounted to 21.1 millimeters, while the normal rainfall for the whole month amounts to 53.3 millimeters. The amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours amounted to 1.4 millimeters.
Specifically, the largest amount of precipitation from the 1st of the month until 8:00 am on the 24th of November occurred in the new port of Limassol with 46 .4 millimeters, which corresponds to 95% of normal for the whole of November, in Polis Chrysochous with 34.3 millimeters (53% of normal), in Stavros tis Psoka with 34.2 millimeters (39% of normal), in Frenaros 25.5 millimeters (60% of normal), and in the area of Paphos airport with 23.3 millimeters (45% of normal).
In the last 24 hours a large amount of precipitation occurred at Paphos airport with 8 ,1 millimeters and at the Cross of Psoka with 7.1 millimeters.
