US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin had their first telephone conversation. Putin stressed that the normalization of relations is in the interest of both countries. At the same time, he added that improving the dialogue between the two countries will benefit the whole world, due to their influence on global security and stability.
The two leaders also discussed the issue of the rapid expiration of the New START Treaty (the latest arms deal between the two states to reduce their nuclear arsenals).
