The meeting of the American Secretary of State Anthony Blinken with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv ended after three hours.

According to the announcement from the press office of the Israeli prime minister, Netanyahu “reiterated Israel's commitment to the current American proposal to release our hostages, which takes into account Israel's security needs, which he strongly insists on.”

At the same time , the statement said the meeting was positive and held in a “good atmosphere”.

Earlier, the US Secretary of State warned that “possibly” now is the “last” chance for to reach a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas to end the war in the Gaza Strip which has been going on for more than ten months.

“This is a decisive moment, perhaps the best, perhaps the last chance to for the hostages to return to their homes, for a truce to be reached and for the whole world to enter the path of lasting peace and security,” Blinken emphasized during his meeting in Tel Aviv with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
