The Energy Office of Cyprus organizes a Blue Energy Festival in the city of Paphos and invites young and old to declare their presence. The event will take place on Sunday, May 15, from 11:00 to 14:00, in the Old Port, in the square in front of the castle. The event is under the auspices of the Municipality of Paphos and is organized in the framework of the implementation of the European project Blue Deal * , in which the Cyprus Energy Office participates as partner.
Through the action of the project Blue Deal in Cyprus, possible pilot sites with marine energy potential were identified, and the appropriate technologies for its utilization. With this in mind, the Festival aims to highlight the results of the project in Cyprus, to inform and raise awareness of young and old about the Blue Energy sector and the prospects of Blue Energy in Cyprus.
Come so find out:
What is Blue Energy? What Blue Energy technologies are there and what do they look like? What are the sources of Blue Energy in Cyprus and with what technologies can we use them? What are the environmental criteria for the installation of Blue Energy technologies and how can we protect the marine ecosystem of Cyprus?
All this, through various activities prepared by the Cyprus Energy Office and its collaborators, such as acquaintance with the Blue Energy technologies of Cyprus through virtual reality ( Virtual Reality ), demonstration of technological mechanisms for the conversion of wave energy into kinetic energy, and painting for our little friends.
It is worth mentioning that in the context of the event, the Transnational Alliance will be announced, which seeks to develop the project in Cyprus and the wider Mediterranean region, in order to take action to promote Blue Energy. This, through the cooperation of individuals and organizations active in the field of Blue Energy (technology companies, academic institutions, research organizations, environmental organizations, local authorities, etc.).
