The 3rd breakfast was held today with great success, with the guests of the Ambassadors who are accredited in Cyprus and representatives of the business world, and which was co-organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus.
The theme of the event was the promotion of women on Boards of Directors, entitled “Women on Boards: Time of Change.”
The event was addressed by the President of KEBE Mr. Christodoulos Agastiniotis and the Director of its Global Agenda Directorate Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Elena Rafti. Mr. Agastiniotis in his speech referred to the Chamber's commitment to increasing the participation of women in senior positions, including the Executive Board, which is considered necessary for the success of an organization.
Next, keynote speakers was Ms. Myrto Zambarta, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Cyprus, who analyzed the European legislation for increasing the number of women on boards of directors, the Ambassador of France Mrs. Salina Grenet-Catalano, the Ambassador of Egypt Mr. Amr Hamza and Mrs. Eliza Livadiotou, Executive Director of Financial Management & of Activities and Executive Member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Cyprus.
The event took place in the context of strengthening Economic Diplomacy and is part of the “Diplomacy meets Business” series. The common goal of the KEBE and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the breakfasts is to bridge the gap between diplomats and the business world of Cyprus, with specific themes per breakfast.
