British Foreign Secretary on the Cyprus issue:

He described as the “starting point” the model of a bi-zonal bi-communal federation for a solution to the Cyprus problem by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom Dominic Raab, speaking of the need for flexibility and pragmatism.

Responding Tuesday to a question in the House of Commons by Labor MP Pambo Charalambous, who asked Mr Raab to reaffirm the UK's commitment to the bi-zonal bi-communal federation as the only basis for a political settlement in the face of informal Nations.

The British Minister initially said that he had recently visited Cyprus, where he had talks with the President of the Republic and the Turkish Cypriot leader, to note that “of course (the bi-zonal bi-communal federation) is the starting point”.

He added that “the most important thing to do now is for both sides to go to these 5 plus UN talks unconditionally, so that we can re-engage in the kind of flexibility and pragmatism that one with lasting and lasting peace for all of Cyprus. “
