Butchers in Cyprus move at a brisk pace during Holy Week ahead of Easter Sunday.
Butchers president Costas Livadiotis spoke on the front page and was asked to comment on the reports of the Veterinary Services that 2,000 fewer animals have been slaughtered this year than in 2022.
"Indeed the slaughter is reduced but no one knows until the last moment what is happening and how much traffic there is. It started much earlier this year. I believe we will be short of last Easter, we won't be 20% lower but maybe 10%» said Mr. Livadiotis.

Referring to the prices, he said that the lamb in Cyprus is sold for 12-13 euros while in Greece 14-15 euros.
In closing, he said that those who have ordered the they will surely find their meat. "There is never a lamb left in Cyprus".
