Central Bank: Beware of entity called “UNIVERSAL BANKS”

The Central Bank of Cyprus (“CBC”) with today's announcement informs the public, businesses and, in particular, depositors that an alleged entity under the name “UNIVERSAL BANKS” (www.universalbanks. com) does not hold a credit institution license from the CBC in accordance with Article 4 of the Credit Institutions Operations Laws of 1997 to 2023.

With its announcement, the CBC urges the public, businesses and depositors , as before cooperating with credit institutions, to refer to its website and specifically to the Register of Credit Institutions operating in Cyprus to ascertain the credit institutions legally operating in the Republic of Cyprus.
