The introduction of electronic appointments in hospitals was a necessity, said to KYPE, the Spokesman of the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) Charalambos Charilaou, adding that in this way will avoid the inconvenience of patients who call without answering.

Mr. Charilaou stated that with the assumption of the administration of the hospitals by OKYPY it has been identified that there was a problem regarding the closing of telephone appointments and for this reason the Organization with the upgrade of its website has put an application so that the citizen the who wishes to make an appointment for any service, as shown by the hospitals of OKYPY, to be able to do so electronically.

“The process is very simple – you enter the website of the Organization, you choose the hospital you want, you go to a specific clinic and there you choose the doctor with whom you want to make an appointment. “You make a request and within a reasonable time, the officer handling the requests communicates with you”, he said.

In this way, he added, “patients' discomfort in calling and not receiving an answer is avoided and they are served to the maximum”.

What we want to emphasize, he added, is that this application will be parallel to the previous ways of booking appointments for all those who do not have easy access to electronic technology.
