The Cypriot Coordinating Child Protection and Welfare Committee (PSEPEP) calls on the state to recognize the particular problems of children and to act immediately to mitigate and eliminate them, noting that we must realize that children are “the present” and we must invest in them today, if we really want to “have a future”.

In its announcement, on the occasion of the anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, PSEPEP considers that today's anniversary should mark the beginning of a more specific and targeted effort to implement the strong> Child Rights in Cyprus, which includes and protects all children, regardless of their place of origin.

According to PSEPEP “Child Poverty, Sexual Abuse and Exploitation , Inequality in Education and Skills Development opportunities, Social Exclusion, especially of vulnerable groups and non-natives, still plague the world, but unfortunately also the European Union”, to note that “Cyprus is not an exception, and within the unprecedented conditions of the pandemic, distancing, confinement and immigration, we are called to recognize the special problems of children and to act immediately to mitigate and eliminate them ».
