China today called on its citizens to leave Lebanon “as soon as possible”, according to a statement from its embassy, the day after an Israeli strike in that country killed a military leader of the Palestinian Fatah organization.

The embassy advises in its announcement to the Chinese citizens now in Lebanon to “seize the opportunity, while there are still commercial flights, to return to China or leave the country as soon as possible”.
