The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth provided clarifications regarding the operation of the skills workshops, which will include sexual education from the new school year, noting that for B' and C' high school class, sexual education will be done through special seminars.
Specifically, a total of 8-12 periods will be dedicated to family education and sex education in pre-primary education, 6-10 periods in primary school, 8-10 periods in high school, in A' Lyceum 6-8 periods, while in B' and C' 6-10 high school periods will be available for the organization of special seminars on Sexuality Education, family education and the development of social skills and relationships.
As stated in an announcement by the Ministry, in Pre-Primary Education and in the first two grades of Primary School, twelve skills workshops are held per school year, lasting two periods each, i.e. a total of 24 periods. Of these, 8-12 periods will be allocated to family education and sex education in Pre-Primary, while 6-10 periods out of 24 will be dedicated to the first two grades of primary school.
In classes C' and D' of the Elementary School, nine skills workshops are held per school year lasting two periods each, i.e. a total of 18 periods, of which 6-10 will be allocated to family education and sexual education.
In grades E' and S' of the Elementary School, eight skills workshops are held per school year lasting two periods each, a total of 16 periods, of which 6-10 will be allocated to family education and sex education.
In the three classes of the Middle School, eight skills workshops are held per school year lasting three periods each, a total of 24 periods, of which 8-10 are allocated to sexual and reproductive health, family education and the development of social skills and relationships, according to the design of the of the relevant address and the inspection of the Health Education (Home Economics) course, utilizing the existing Analytical Program, which is reinforced with appropriate content and relevant pedagogical instructions.
In A' high school class, eight skills workshops are held per school year lasting two periods each, a total of 16 periods. Of these, 6-8 are allocated to sexual and reproductive health, family education and the development of social skills and relationships.
Finally, in B' and C' High school and TESEK classes are allocated a total of 6-10 periods during each class/year for the organization of special seminars on Sexual Education, family education and the development of social skills and relationships.
