Code of Ethics for the members of K.S. In order to prevent corruption and enhance transparency, the OSCE intends to testify MP Irini Charalambidou, one of the Vice-Presidents of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Special Representative for the OSCE the Fight against Corruption.
Ms. Charalambidou participated in an online meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly, which took place on Friday and informed the Members of the Bureau about her next plans in the context of her new term.
According to a statement issued by the Parliament, Ms. Charalambidou informed the Bureau in particular about her intention to submit a Code of Ethics for the members of the OSCE, in order to prevent corruption and enhance transparency, seeking, as mentioned the wider consultation on the draft to reach the necessary consensus.
As added in the announcement, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Margarita Cederfelt underlined her full support for Ms. Charalambidou's initiative, expressing the hope that the fight against corruption and, if possible, the complete elimination of corruption will be achieved.
Ms. Charalambidou, in her speech at a discussion on the activities of the OSCE, expressed her gratitude to the President of the OSCE for her decision to reappoint her Special Representative for the Fight against Corruption.
She also noted the arrangement of her meeting, within the next week, with Ms. Anita Ramasastry, Special Representative for Anti-Corruption at OSCE level.
