Competition in Turkey for “Presidential” and “Parliament” in the occupied territories

Another tender for the construction of access roads to the “presidential compound” being built in occupied Nicosia was held in Turkey.

According to the GTP, the Turkish newspaper Sozjiu reports that the company KLV İnşaat won the tender organized by Directorate General of Motorways and signed the contract on March 29. A total of 882,997,000 Turkish Liras will be spent.

The company that has undertaken the projects is KLV İnşaat based in Ankara. This is a company that has been awarded many tenders for infrastructure, reconstruction and transport projects by public bodies and has been operating since 1988.

The tender in question was made through the negotiation process regulated in the controversial article 21/B of the law on public contracts, and must be used in case of “sudden and unexpected events, such as natural disasters, epidemics, risk of loss of life or property”.

It is recalled that the construction of the complex which will house the “presidential” and “parliament” announced by the Turkish President during his visit to the occupied territories in 2021.

The project was awarded to the company Siyahkalem Mühendislik İnşaat with a bid of 2 billion 285 million Turkish Lira.

Construction work continues on the project, which according to the declarations of the regime, would be completed on December 6, 2023, but it is expected to be completed in December 2024, with a delay of one year, the publication writes.
