The Association received complaints regarding the actual weight of the gas purchased and used by the consumer in a cylinder of gas with a net weight of 10 kg
Complaints about the amount of gas in the 10 kg cylinders are not justified, reports the Cyprus Consumers Association, which conducted a relevant investigation, after receiving complaints on the matter.
As it states in a statement, the Link has received complaints regarding the actual weight of LPG purchased and used by the consumer in a 10kg net LPG cylinder. Therefore, on April 10, 2024, it carried out a related survey.
The survey covered the weight control of more than 100 cylinders, in which the weight of the cylinder returned by the consumer to the supermarket was checked, the weight (tare/curb weight) written on the gas cylinder by the bottling company and the total weight of the cylinder before it is sold.
According to the Association, the survey did not find any difference between the amount of gas purchased and used consumer. “Therefore, any complaints or doubts regarding the amount of LPG that the consumer buys and uses are not justified”, he notes.
The control table carried out by the Association is also posted on the Cyprus website Consumers Association.
