This year, World Consumer Day, brings us major challenges, the Consumer Protection Agency said in a statement on the occasion of World Consumer Day.

Initially, the pandemic and then the war in Ukraine, have triggered large increases in products and services, the Consumer Protection Agency said in a statement on the occasion of World Consumer Day. Unfortunately, the ultimate recipient of these increases is the consumer who is called upon to bear an unbearable cost, especially in essential goods and services that are vital to a decent living.
The Consumer Protection Service and consequently the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, in this difficult period we are going through, aim to put the interests of consumers, and especially of vulnerable groups, at the center of national policies. In addition, a rational assessment of the current situation and the formulation of the most appropriate national strategies for the fastest possible recovery and elimination of the consequences of the pandemic and the war are sought.
Furthermore, the Consumer Protection Service, on the occasion day, calls on consumers to use the means at their disposal, to be careful in their purchases, and to know and claim their rights. Especially in this difficult time, it is important for consumers to plan their purchases according to their needs and capabilities.
They should also take the time required for proper market research, which will give them help identify the cheapest and most suitable products that meet their needs, says the Consumer Service. Finally, consumers are advised not to make hasty purchases and not to be carried away by attractive offers and advertisements.
