“An opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions”
The possibility of cooperation between the business communities of Larnaca and India was discussed during a meeting held today by a delegation of the Chamber with the High Commissioner of India in Cyprus Shri Manish.
In a statement from EBEL it is stated that “the meeting with the High Commissioner of India took place today at the offices of the Chamber. The meeting was attended by the First Secretary of the High Commission of India Subhash Jangala, the President of Dr. Nakis Antoniou, the Vice President of Finance Lazaros Chatziforados, the member of the Board of Directors and the President of the Ports Authority Zenonas Apostolou, the Honorary President of EVEL Othonas Theodoulou, and the Director of the Chamber Charalambos Andreou”.
Dr. Antoniou “expressed the thanks of both himself and the EBEL Board of Directors to Mr. Manish and Mr. Jangala for their valuable support and cooperation in the recent signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Larnaca Chamber and the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce ( BCIC)”.
At the same time, Dr. Antoniou “discussed thoroughly with Mr. Manish both about the further deepening of relations between Cyprus and India and about the prospects for cooperation between the business communities of Larnaca and India, which is a country with about 1.5 billion inhabitants”.
The President of the Larnaca EBE and the High Commissioner of India “stressed the need cooperation of the two countries in the fields of digital technology and education, workforce, tourism, investment, research and innovation and the hotel industry. The need to strengthen the business cooperation between the two sides was also highlighted”.
According to the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce “the meeting was an opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions, with the aim of strengthening relations and creating new cooperation opportunities between the business communities of Cyprus and India”.
