Mitchell's long-time close associate takes center stage for 'The Lady'
Processes for the next season have started in Anorthosis, with the issue of the coach being in the foreground for the Famagusta team.
As revealed on Friday by our website (see HERE), 47-year-old Victor Sanchez is high on Antonio Prieto's list for the coaching position. The Spaniard's case has been evaluated positively, but there are other names of coaches that are being evaluated.
Victor Sanchez was Mitchell Gondaleth's assistant at Getafe, Sevilla and Olympiakos Piraeus (in 128 matches in total), before starting his career as head coach.
He worked as head coach at La Coruña, Betis and Malaga. In the 50 matches he coached La Coruña, he mostly used the 4-2-3-1 and its variations, while in some matches he also chose the 4-4-2.
At Betis he had a different philosophy as the system he used was 5-3-2. At the last team he coached, Málaga, the Spaniard opted for various formations, such as 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 and 5-3-2.
If nothing else, this is a coach who does not “stick” to a system but adapts his plan depending on the roster he has at his disposal and the opponent he has to face.
