Israel has given at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine to 50% of its population of 9.3 million, Health Minister Julie Edelstein announced today.
Israel includes in its population the Palestinians of annexed East Jerusalem, whom it has included in the vaccination campaign that began on 19 December. Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip are not included in the Israeli vaccination campaign.
Edelstein said 35% of the Israeli population had received both doses of the Pfizer Inc. vaccine. and will be able to get a so-called “Green Pass”, with which those who have been vaccinated will have access to places of entertainment to which the country is gradually reopening.
