The President and the Management of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) discussed the undertaking of joint actions for attracting additional investments in Cyprus, in an online meeting, with the Board of Directors of the Association of Large Developments.
During the discussion, the President of the CSE Council Mr. Marinos Christodoulidis informed the representatives of the Association of Large Developments about the possibilities offered by the Stock Exchange, in attracting investments. As Mr. Christodoulidis mentioned, in this difficult situation for our economy, the CSE can play a significant role in strengthening companies with new funds, in the context of the CSE operation which is characterized by full transparency. He also referred to the CSE's goal for the implementation of the CSE strategic planning (privatization) and noted that the arrival in Cyprus of an internationally recognized stock exchange will create greater opportunities for attracting additional investment.
The Deputy General Manager of the CSE, Mr. Nikos Trypatsas, made a detailed presentation of the current data of the Stock Exchange, emphasizing the possibilities – advantages offered by its Markets as well as its regulatory framework, which can ensure the transparency of any investment. , as it is fully harmonized with European data.
On his part, the President of the Association of Large Developments Mr. Andreas Demitriadis asked for information on whether the CSE has the ability to provide funds for companies – members of the Association, through international institutional funds, as well as Markets in cooperation with the CSE.
Also, members of the Association of Large Developments stated that they are interested in the prospect of finding investments through the CSE and stressed the need to ensure more tax and other incentives for companies listed on the CSE.
The two sides agreed that the CSE should investigate the possibility of including large development companies in the presentation (road – show) that it organizes every year in Athens.
Finally, it was agreed to continue the exchange of views, so that the CSE and the Association of Major Developments, contribute with their actions to the strengthening of the Cypriot economy.
