The Association of Civil Engineers of Cyprus (SPOLMIK) with its announcement, expresses its warm congratulations to Platon Stylianou, Civil Engineer and former President of SPOLMIK, who was elected to the new Board of Directors and specifically to the position of Vice President and the next President period 2024-2027 (Vice President – President Elect), during the 73rd General Assembly of the European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE) held on 22-23 October online through the ZOOM platform.
He notes that the election of Mr. Stylianos is a special honor for SPOLMIK, while it is an important milestone in the history of Civil Engineering in Cyprus and in Europe, since for the first time in our history a Cypriot Civil Engineer is elected to such a prestigious position in the European Association of Civil Engineers (ECCE).
“In this way, the multidimensional contribution of Mr. Stylianos to the events of the European Council of Civil Engineers in recent years is recognized, since among other things he was the head of the working group for the Strategic Plan of ECCE 2021-2030, the Position Paper of ECCE for Valuation and Earthquake reinforcement of the Existing Buildings in combination with their Energy Upgrade, but also of the 3S Approach (Safe, Sound and Sustainable) which was accepted as the motto of ECCE for the year 2020 “, the announcement concludes.
