The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, still continues to consider the possibility of a tripartite meeting, his spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, said in response to a question from the Cyprus News Agency during the Press Briefing, at the headquarters of the international organization in New York. He noted, however, that no invitations have been sent.
«The Secretary-General continues to consider the possibility of inviting the leaders of the two sides to a joint meeting to discuss the next steps in the Cyprus issue, these so-called tripartite meetings. It's something we're obviously thinking about, but we're still looking into it. said Mr. Dujarric.
Mr. Dujarric did not mention possible dates, but stressed that so far no invitations have been sent by the Secretary-General's office to the two leaders for a joint meeting. "What should be made clear is that no invitations have been sent to date," he said.
