The Association of Senior Police Officers of Cyprus (S.A.A.A.K) expresses its full support to all members of the Police who participated in the policing of the protest event, which took place on February 13, 2021, in Nicosia. He speaks of a “fragmentary” presentation of facts, while wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
In a relevant announcement, it is noted that SAAK “condemns any attempt to present a fragmentary and non-objective presentation of the events, so that the real picture of the episodes is not captured”.
At the same time, the Association “calls on all those involved to show respect for the presumption of innocence, without victimizing anyone, pending the investigation to be carried out by the Independent Authority for the Investigation of Allegations and Complaints against the Police”.
“Finally, we express our sympathy to the injured and wish them a speedy recovery,” the statement concluded.
