The Police is investigating all the possibilities, in relation to the complaint of the father concerning one of his twin babies, who was born dead in Makareio Hospital, the Press Spokesman of the Police, Christos Andreou, stated to KYPE.
According to Mr. Andreou, the Police is currently awaiting the results of the histopathological examinations that are being carried out, since from the legal autopsy that was performed yesterday on the body of the dead baby, the causes of death have not been determined, nor whether it was born dead.
“For its part, the Police is investigating all the possibilities. “The next step will depend on the results of the histopathological examinations that the Police will have before it”, said Mr. Andreou.
The incident took place the day before yesterday at Makareio Hospital, where a woman gave birth at 15:30 by caesarean section and one of her two babies was stillborn.
The father then complained to the Police, alleging medical negligence.
The necropsy of the infant was performed to determine if the infant was dead before birth or lost the battle after delivery.
The autopsy was performed by medical examiners Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxos, while the medical examiner Marios Matsakis attended on behalf of the family.
