At the same time, from April 1, until Easter Sunday, members of the Police responded to more than 620 incidents involving disturbances, throwing firecrackers, lighting firecrackers and other offenses related to juvenile delinquency, however on Holy Saturday and the early hours of On Easter Sunday, three non-serious injuries were reported from firecrackers.
In a press release, which records the report of the action of the Police during the days of the Easter holidays, it is stated that with the instructions of the Chief of Police, a Crisis Management Center operated at the Police Headquarters, from April 1, until yesterday, Easter Sunday. headed by senior officers from Headquarters for the purpose of coordinating the Police Directorates, in collaboration with the Service Officers of the Provinces.
It is added that the Crisis Center evaluated information, monitored the various incidents and coordinated the patrols of the provinces. It is also reported that as of April 1st, a specific action plan was implemented with increased patrols aimed at preventing and combating the phenomenon of the use of firecrackers and fireworks and indiscriminate lighting in cooperation with the Fire Service and local authorities.

At the same time, since the beginning of the month, 43 Molotov cocktails, 104 gas canisters and other improvised explosive devices were located and seized in various cases in Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos, and 28 persons were found to be involved in these cases under investigation.

For his part, the Fire Service Spokesman Andreas Kettis announced in a post on social media that during the 24-hour period Holy Saturday – Easter Sunday, the Fire Service responded to 108 incidents (96 fires, 7 special services and 5 false calls).
According to the post, since March 10, when the fires that indirectly but clearly relate to lampreys were recorded, the Fire Department responded to a total of 242 incidents.

The press release also states that between April 10 and 15, 739 drivers were found and reported for exceeding the speed limit, 71 drivers for using a mobile phone and 40 drivers found to be driving under the influence alcohol influence.
