The departure of students to Limassol for a trip to Kakopetria was episodic as young hooded men threw firecrackers, smoke bombs and Molotov cocktails with the result to cause damage to a car.
Specifically, it was around 9 this morning when information reached the authorities that there were young people gathered near a school in Limassol who were throwing firecrackers and smoke bombs.
Members of the Police rushed to the area where they conducted an on-site examination and found that a number of students from various schools were gathered in the area and were about to leave for Kakopetria, where they had a planned excursion.
According to testimony, group of young hooded men were seen throwing firecrackers, smoke bombs and Molotov cocktails in the street. As a result of this, one of the molotovs fell on a car that was moving in the area. A small fire broke out in the car, which was extinguished by a bystander, but it had managed to cause minor damage to the roof. The amount of damage is currently unknown, while there is no insurance coverage.
