On Wednesday, the Commissioner for the Protection of Children's Rights, Despo Michailidou – Livaniou, visited the Accommodation Area for Unaccompanied Minors Applicants for International Protection, in Oroklini, who, after evaluating the overall information she received, will forward the findings. and her recommendations to the competent authorities.
Specifically, according to an announcement from her office, the Commissioner visited the site as part of exercising her supervisory role.
It is added that the visit included an inspection of the hotel premises, a meeting with representatives of the Social Welfare Services, the Provincial Welfare Office of Larnaca, the interprofessional staff that staffs the area and the Asylum Service, as well as meetings with representatives of the unaccompanied minors hosted at the hotel.
It is also stated that the Commissioner will evaluate the overall information received and will forward the findings and its leadership to the competent authorities.
