The Ministry of Health made changes to the procedure followed regarding the system of identification/registration of Asylum Seekers, upon their arrival at the Public Hospitals.
In today's announcement, the Ministry of Health states that the differences are valid from yesterday Monday, May 2, 2022.
Specifically, the competent Ministry states that Asylum Seekers, in the first year from the date of submission of the request for international protection, will be accepted in the Public Hospitals, upon presentation of the document “Confirmation of Submission of an Application for International Protection”, which is issued by the Asylum Service, instead of the Hospital Identity Card./p>
Furthermore, it states that in case there is and is presented a Hospital Identity Card, it will also be accepted.
In the meantime, note that after the expiration of the first year Asylum Seekers will no longer be able to register using the “Confirmation of Submission of an Application for International Protection” and must be presented with a Hospital Identity Card.
Therefore, adds the Ministry of Health, they should take care in time to ensure them.
