As a Democratic Party, we expect that the Minister of Justice will do the obvious: to resign, DIKO states in a statement, emphasizing that it is unacceptable for the Anastasiadis-DISY government to use the sanitary measures as a pretext to cover up the criticism leveled against it.
The announcement as it is
As the Democratic Party, we strongly condemn the excessive violence exercised yesterday by the police against citizens who were protesting against corruption.
The way the police acted is a dangerous deviation from democracy and the behavior of an authoritarian regime.
It is unacceptable for the Anastasiadis-DISY government to use the sanitary measures as a pretext to silence the criticism leveled against it.
For deviants there is a clear political responsibility that must be taken. As a Democratic Party, we expect the Minister of Justice to do the obvious: to resign.
