Some facts worth mentioning about the new acquisition of AEK
AEK's recent signings include Mark Dimers, with the Dutchman signing a two-year contract. The 29-year-old staff midfielder is characterized by his good transfers and his ability to cause problems for the opponents either with his vertical passes or from set-pieces, with the “yellow-green” betting a lot on these elements.
But apart from the good recommendations that accompany him, taking a more detailed look at his CV, we can say that he is an experienced player, with a spell at Feyenoord among others (Europe and high goals in a highly competitive league). The name of the Dutch team clearly stands out, but his collaboration with Erik Ten Haag is also worth mentioning. Under the instructions of the coach of Manchester United, he played in the 2015-2016 season in Utrecht.
“Ten Haag was very good in the tactical part and it showed in training as well. I think that during the period that we worked together, he was not that good at the human level and especially at the level of communication with his players. But looking at the teams he's worked with along the way, he's undoubtedly improved on that part. Sometimes I contact him on WhatsApp and he is very friendly with me. Undoubtedly, it improved in the communication part.” Some of Deemers' positions on Ten Haag, in an interview he gave in 2022.
In addition, we should add that in the past teams such as Neil Lennon's Celtic in 2019, as well as Panathinaikos have shown interest in him by Ivan Jovanovich! He was linked with the “clover” both in the summer of 2021 and that of 2022, with colleagues in Greece even mentioning that it was a burning desire of the Serbian technician. Nevertheless, for various reasons he never ended up in the “greens” of Athens.
In AEK, however, they maintain that they signed a player at a relatively good age, who comes from a full season in the Dutch league (36 appearances with the Emen) which measures important performances. His own goal is to justify those who chose him, making a difference in his new team.
