Diogenous Street, located in the city within the walls, will remain closed to vehicles from Monday, January 24 until Monday, February 28, 2022, as part of the restoration work of the Municipal Market of the Old Town Hall, announced the Municipality of Nicosia.
The Municipality urges drivers to be careful and to follow the traffic signs. Notes that the following traffic regulations will apply:
For traffic from west to east of the old city, vehicles can move from Lefkonos – Trikoupi – Dionysos – Pl. City Hall and Old Electricity in the direction of Pentadaktylou Street. Respectively, in the direction of Isaakiou Komninou Street, the vehicles can move from Lefkonos – Aeschylus – Agios Savvas – Trikoupi – Pl. Tyllirias – Piraeus.
For traffic from Trikoupi Street to Isaakiou Komninou Street, vehicles can move through Trikoupi – Pl. Tillirias – Piraeus – Isaaki Komninou.
For the traffic from the Famagusta Gate to Trikoupi Street, the following route must be followed: Nikiforos Fokas Street – Agiou Antoniou Street – Patriarch Grigoriou E'Street – Tillirias Street.
For the traffic from Trikoupi Street to the Famagusta Gate, the following route should be followed: Tyllirias Street – Patriarch Grigoriou E'- Zenonos Kitieos Street – Adamantiou Korai Street – Nikiforos Fokas Street.
The Municipality reminds that the building of the Municipal Market of the Old Town Hall will host functions of the Center of Excellence in Research and Innovation CYENS (formerly RISE) and is part of the priorities of the Municipality of Nicosia for Integrated Sustainable Urban Development and Research. of entrepreneurship.
In addition to the workshops and application demonstration countries, common workplaces, seminar space, multimedia studio, fabrication lab, electronic standards space, etc. will be housed in the facilities of the Agora building.
