A senior police officer allegedly kept in touch with a prisoner in the Central Prison, asking him to provide a video of the personal life of the director of the penitentiary.

< p>The information became known to Mrs. Anna Aristotelous, who is said to have provided evidence documenting the case and within days will make an official complaint to the Independent Authority for the Investigation of Allegations and Complaints (AADIPA), while informing Attorney General George Savvidis, Stefi Drakou and the Chief of Police Stelios Papatheodorou. Information from “P” states that the convict has confirmed in writing that he had contacts with the senior police officer. “P” contacted Ms. Aristotelous who confirmed the information, without, however, currently wanting to go into details.

I want video and fast

Despite the efforts of “P”, it was not possible to secure and cross-check the name and position of the senior police officer who was talking to the prisoner. However, credible sources confirmed to “P” that the senior officer was using his personal mobile phone to communicate with the prisoner through the Telegram platform on an almost daily basis. Communication alone creates a serious issue of order for the police officer, but also questions about the ways in which convicts communicate with people outside prison.

The information states that the officer in his messages persistently asked the convict to find through his links any video from personal moments of the director of the Prison Anna Aristotelous or the senior officer Athena Dimitriou.

In one of the messages in the Telegram, the officer wrote to the convict: “Keep in mind that it is rumored that Anna will soon leave for another position. Send me the (videos) as soon as possible, because I want to do some things before the girls leave prison. “

” Videos to burn “

In the conversations that seem to have taken place last March, the Police officer wrote to the prisoner:

“All I want is some videos that burn her. If you have or if you find it, send it to me and I know what I will do before Anna goes to another position “. The prisoner asked if the videos he wanted must be from the personal life of the director of the Prison and the officer's answer was: “We want such a video and nothing else. “Try and we will talk.” And that conversation ended with the officer's advice to the prisoner, “Watch out”, meaning Anna Aristotelous and Athena Dimitriou.

Prisons are buzzing

< p>Information about the officer's contacts with the prisoner reached the director of the Prison through convicts who knew about the case. Mrs. Aristotelous researched the information she had received and managed to secure the written admission of the varipoinite for & # 8217; these conversations and their content. It should be noted that information concerning the same officer had been transmitted to the Directorate of Prisons in the past and concerned his efforts to professionally stigmatize Ms. Aristotle. The efforts were aimed at overturning the image created for the Prisons that made them a model for other countries. In fact, in one case a convict had claimed that the same officer had offered to provide him with a mobile phone in order to give them information through the prisons.

I want to leave

The director of the Central Prison confirmed to “P” that in the next few days she will make an official complaint to the Independent Authority for the Investigation of Allegations and Complaints against the Police (AADIPA), requesting an immediate investigation. As she explained to us, she will not make a complaint to the Police, as the case concerns a senior officer of the Corps and the Police could not investigate herself. This should be done by an independent criminal investigator who will logically be appointed by the Attorney General, who will also be officially informed by Ms. Aristotle's lawyers.

The director of the Prison told “P” intends to send a letter to the Civil Service Commission requesting to leave the Central Prison, as she does not feel that she can continue to perform her duties while the officer in question remains in the Police and therefore exercises power.

Ms. Aristotle refused to reveal the name and position of the officer, saying that she would do so in her official complaint, which would include all the information she had gathered.

Motivation? Unknown

The reasons why the senior police officer wanted to expose the director of the Prison are unknown. Sources who spoke to “P” speculate that this is just envy, due to the recognition that Anna Aristotelous receives for her work in the penitentiary system. A project that is recognized by everyone inside and outside Cyprus and possibly this bothers some. It should be recalled that Mrs. Aristotle took over the reins of the Prison after a very dark period, when convicts committed suicide due to the miserable detention conditions and the methods used by the former administration.

Tomorrow the ” Will reveal other facts of the case, which raise reasonable suspicions of widespread corruption in the Police
